7          Festival of Carols, Kendal Parish Church
            Seasonal readings and music to round off our WI year.

18        Christmas in the Office, WI Office, Kendal, 10am-12noon   

            Pop in for mince pies & carols as you do that last minute Christmas shopping... 


January 2019
Friday 11      Treasurer's Surgery, WI Office, Kendal, 10am-12noon
                     Our Federation Treasurer will answer any WI finance queries in person. 
                     It is helpful if you can let us know you are coming or you can ring her for a chat.
                     Also 8 Feb, 12 April. 

Friday 25     Singalong 'Oklahoma' Screening, Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal, 12noon
                    Lunch followed by singalong to this classic musical. Stetson/bonnet wearers welcome.
February  
Weds 13      Ukulele Group, WI Office, Kendal, 1pm
                     Friendly monthly strummers' group - newcomers welcome.

Weds 27      Wellbeing Day, WI Office, 10am-2.30pm
                    Learn about how to look after your wellbeing with Catherine Hunt. Hand & foot massages.

Thurs 28      Peter McCall, Selside Village Hall, 2pm
                    Fascinating talk featuring Cumbria's Police & Crime Commissioner.
March 
Friday 8       International Women's Day, Coronation Hall, Ulverston, 10am-3.30pm
                    Thought-provoking line-up of speakers on international women's issues.

Thurs 14 +   Natural Art Course with Margaret Jarvis, WI Office, Kendal, 10am-3pm
Thur 21        Brush up on your painting and drawing skills with expert help. Beginners welcome.

Sat 16          Spring Table Top Sale & Coffee Morning, Appleby Public Hall, 9am-12noon
                    WIs can hire a stall for fundraising or just come & enjoy a friendly cuppa with WI friends.

Mon 18         Reading Aloud, People's Hall, Sedbergh, 11am
                     Teams of two compete for the Rose Bowl Trophy - reading from Little Women +
                      a poem of choice.

Mon 25         Federation Spring Meeting, Kendal Town Hall, 7pm
                      Large evening meeting with all the WI news plus entertaining top-notch speaker.

Thur 28        From Green to Gold Again, Endmoor Village Hall, 10am-3pm
                     Learn how to improve your scores at our Shows with this informal day featuring specialist
                      judges in craft, cookery & garden produce.
April
Tues 16        Speakers' Afternoon, Bryce Institute, Burneside, 1.30pm-4pm
                     Our ever-popular afternoon when we get to hear new speakers & entertainers with a view 
                     to booking them for WI meetings.

Thur 25         Briefing Conference, WI Office, Kendal, 10am-12noon
                      Information for delegates and others attending the NFWI Annual Meeting in Bournemouth,
                      plus further details of the resolutions that will be debated at that meeting.

Sun 5 -          Federation Holiday to Northern Ireland
Fri 10            Super holiday including visits to the Giant's Causeway and Fermanagh Lakelands.

Sun 2            Terrific family-friendly local show featuring WI Marque with members' exhibits.

Wed 5           NFWI Annual Meeting, Bournemouth
                     Our party of delegates, WI Advisers and Observers travel down on Tuesday 4 June & 
                      return on Thursday 6 June
July 
Thur 24             Group Representatives Coffee Morning, WI Office, Kendal, 10am-12noon
                        Summer gathering to assist all those who plan Group meetings. 

August
Fri 30 -              Visit to RSC Stratford 'As You Like It'
Sun                  Super trip to see Shakespeare's classic comedy, based at the Warwick Hilton
1 Sept               Hotel (B&B and evening meal/theatre ticket included).

September      
Thur 12                         Westmorland County Show, Crooklands
                        Showcase for our talented craftswomen, cooks, artists & photographers in the                            marvellous WI Marquee, with judging throughout the week at Preston Patrick
                                    Memorial Hall. 
October
Tues 22             Annual Council Meeting, Kendal Town Hall, 10.45am-3.30pm
                        Top-notch speakers plus all the Federation news. 

Sun 27              Table Top Sale, Preston Patrick Memorial Hall (to be confirmed)
                        Annual table-top sale with bric-a-brac and refreshments. 

November
Mon 4               Federation Quiz, various venues
                        Our ever-popular Federation-wide pub quiz with supper. 

Thur 28             Christmas Coffee Morning, Coronation Hall, Ulverston, 9am
                        Sociable seasonal gathering with all the usual stalls & Christmas cheer. 
December
Fri 6                              Festival of Carols, Kendal Parish Church, 2pm
                        Our traditional celebration of the festive season with readings and music.
