Casterton
WI
Belonging to the WI and
being part of the Cumbria-Westmorland Federation provides friendship, fun, opportunities
to listen to interesting speakers and the chance to attend courses in order to
acquire new skills. You can learn something you
didn't know or couldn't do yesterday. Join the WI for the ability to challenge
yourself and really discover what makes you the person you are - a totally
empowering experience.
Casterton
WI President, Gill Sykes, joined the WI in 1986 and says ‘I had moved to a
village where I worked but didn't know many residents. I worked long hours but
also wanted to give something back to the community, learn new facts and skills
and gain a social life at the same time. I have never looked back and am proud
to have received a certificate for 30 years’ membership of the WI in October
2016’.
Cumbria-Westmorland
Chairman 2010 - 2018, Ruth Rigg, said ‘The WI has something for everyone and it
is what you make of it’.
Casterton WI celebrated its centenary in 2019 and CWFWI celebrates its centenary in 2020.
