Forensic Pathology Talk October 28th 2015

Anne, Ann, Gill and Kay went to Burneside.  Following soup, roll and tray bake, Dr Bill Lawler OBE gave an illustrated talk about his work as a Forensic Pathologist.  

There are only 38 Forensic Pathologists in the country and they are on call 24/7/52. Bill described all the different situations in which he is required to work and shared with us many statistics and stories relating to his work. The breakdown of murders into the different ways that they had been executed and what percentage each group constituted was fascinating.

Bill managed to talk in the most interesting and sometimes amusing way way about a very serious and important profession.  We were intrigued by all that he told us and were amazed at how much information he is able to make available to the police and coroner.
